Working for a Cleaner Selly Oak: Cllrs Alistair Dow and Dave Radcliffe have welcomed the newly repainted railway bridge over the Bristol Road.

Selly Oak councillors Alistair Dow and Dave Radcliffe have welcomed the painting of the railway bridge on Bristol Road.

Dave Radcliffe said: "This gateway to our area and to the city is passed by many thousands of people every day. I'm proud that we have been able to improve this local landmark."

Selly Oak railway bridge was repainted in original London Midland colours. The repainting of the bridge was agreed by the Selly Oak Local Centres Steering Group, chaired by Cllr Alistair Dow. It is part of the Council's commitment to help improve the look of the Bristol Road / Oak Tree Lane shopping area and make it safer.

In cooperation with the Police, three moveable CCTV cameras have also been deployed in the shopping centre area to help tackle crime, vandalism and anti-social behaviour.
