"I am delighted that the path network in Selly Oak Park has been improved," said Lib Dem Councillor Dave Radcliffe.
Selly Oak Councillor Dave Radcliffe has welcomed the new investment in Selly Oak Park. Dave Radcliffe said: "I am delighted to report that the path network in the park has been improved. I know this has been a big concern for residents and other park users."
Around £23,000 has now been spent to improve some of the previous footpaths and create a better circuit around the park. The path from Gibbins Road at the west end of the park now links up with the central path running from Corisande Road to the Harborne Lane end of Gibbins Road.
Plans for an educational nature trail have also been given a boost after a further £3,000 from the Birmingham Community Foundation was secured to match the £3,000 grant agreed by local councillors last year. Plans are still being developed, but sculptures, signposts and information boards could be part of the project to encourage new park users and schoolchildren.
