"The new gym at Tiverton Pool is great news for a popular local service," said Councillor Dave Radcliffe (left).
Local Lib Dems have welcomed the major refurbishment to the gym at Tiverton Pool & Fitness Centre. "This is great news for a popular local service," said Councillor Dave Radcliffe.
Paying tribute to the staff at Tiverton Pool, who helped in the refurbishment work by preparing and painting walls amongst other tasks, Dave Radcliffe said: "The success of the new gym owes a great deal to the hard work of all the staff. Feedback from users has been very positive."
The refurbishment work at Tiverton Pool complements the gym refurbishments at Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre and Billesley Indoor Tennis Centre, which also now have high quality gyms.
Tiverton Pool is included in the Be Active scheme that allows free use of public swimming pools and gyms during off-peak times until 31 March 2011. The scheme is part-funded by the NHS in Birmingham, who are working together with the Lib Dem partnership City Council. The aim is to improve the health of all Birmingham residents.
Anyone who wants to join the scheme will need a Leisure Card (see www.birmingham.gov.uk/leisurecard). You can complete an application form and take it to your local leisure centre along with two documents showing your name and address.
